1. Who we are
Spry, LLC runs wearespry.com. In this policy, “Spry”, “we” and “us” mean Spry, LLC.
Spry, LLC 4407 Vineland Rd. D-6 Orlando, FL 32811 United States
The person responsible for your personal information is Josh Hemingway, Partner and Executive Producer. Reach him at hello@wearespry.com with any question about this policy or to use any of the rights below.
This policy covers wearespry.com. It doesn’t cover other sites we link to, such as YouTube, the stores behind our Shop the Show links, or our broadcast and streaming partners. They have their own policies.
2. What we collect
What you give us
- An enquiry (Work with Spry, contact, and the trade-show page): your name, email address, company, role, what you’d like to make, timing, budget range, and how you heard about us. Only the fields you fill in. We also record that you agreed to our Terms, and when.
- A deck request: your name, company and email address, and which show the deck is for.
- A sign-up for The Spry Letter or In Development: your email address and which letter.
- A shop order: your name, email address, shipping address and what you bought. You pay on Stripe’s checkout page; your card details go to Stripe and we never see or store them.
What we record automatically
- Where your visit came from: the referring site or campaign tag, and the page you landed on. It’s kept in your browser for the visit only, and attached to a form if you send one, so we know which pages bring enquiries.
- Page counts: each page view adds one to a daily count for that page, its source and device type (phone, tablet or desktop). These counts identify no one: no cookies, no IP address, no user ID.
- Your IP address, used only to limit how many requests can come from one address in a short window. It isn’t stored with anything you send, and the counters are deleted automatically within 8 days.
- Google Analytics, only if you allow it. See section 5.
Sensitive information
We don’t ask for or knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and the site isn’t meant for children under 16.
3. Why we collect it
| What we use it for | What we use |
|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry or sending the deck you asked for | Your enquiry or request |
| Sending The Spry Letter or In Development, if you signed up | Email address |
| Fulfilling, shipping and supporting your order, and our tax and accounting records | Order details |
| Knowing which pages and campaigns bring enquiries | Visit source, landing page, page counts |
| Stopping spam and automated abuse | IP address (briefly) |
| Understanding how the site is used, if you allow analytics | Google Analytics data |
We won’t use your information for a materially different purpose without telling you first.
4. Who we share it with
We use these service providers. Most process your information only on our instructions. Google (including YouTube) and Stripe also handle some information under their own privacy policies, for example for Stripe’s fraud prevention.
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Everything sent through the site, and your IP address | Hosting the site and storing submissions and orders |
| Resend | Your enquiry or request | Delivering it to us, and our confirmation to you |
| Campaign Monitor | Your email address | Sending the letters you signed up for |
| Stripe | Your order, payment and shipping details | Taking payment and preventing fraud |
| Vercel and Supabase | Enquiries and requests | Running Backlot, our own production system, where we follow up on them |
| Usage data, only if you allow analytics | Google Analytics | |
| YouTube (Google) | Your IP address, only when you press play | Playing a trailer |
We also disclose information where the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, and to a buyer or successor if the business is sold.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. There is no advertising technology on this site.
5. Cookies, analytics and your choices
The site uses only what it needs to run, unless you say otherwise. The one optional technology is Google Analytics. When it’s in use, a bar at the bottom of the page asks you first, and it stays off until you choose Accept all or turn on Analytics in Manage preferences. Reject all is just as easy, and the site works the same either way.
You can change your mind at any time with Your Privacy Choices at the bottom of every page. Our Cookie Policy lists exactly what is stored in your browser.
When Google Analytics is on, we use it with IP anonymisation, Google Signals switched off, and every advertising setting denied.
Videos play from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com), and only when you press play. Until then, YouTube receives nothing.
Global Privacy Control. We honour the GPC signal. We don’t sell or share personal information, so there’s nothing for it to switch off today, but the site recognises it.
6. How long we keep it
| What | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Enquiries and deck requests | As business records, including for as long as we need them to establish or defend legal claims. Ask us and we’ll delete anything we’re not required or entitled to keep. |
| Letter sign-ups | Until you unsubscribe, or the letter is retired |
| Orders | As long as tax and accounting rules require |
| IP address (rate limiting) | Deleted automatically within 8 days |
| Visit source | For your visit only, in your browser; with a form you send, as part of that submission |
| Google Analytics data | Kept by Google for the retention period set on our account, then deleted |
7. Where it’s stored
Your information is stored and processed by us and our service providers in the United States. If you’re in Canada or elsewhere outside the US, your information is transferred to the US, where it may be accessible to US authorities under US law.
8. How we protect it
The site is served over HTTPS only. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect what you send us, and limit access to the people at Spry who need it. We also keep what there is to protect small: no advertising tracking, and analytics only with your permission.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know and access the personal information we hold about you
- correct anything inaccurate
- delete your information
- get a copy in a portable format
- opt out of any sale or sharing of your information
- withdraw consent you gave, at any time
- appeal if we refuse a request
- not be treated differently for using any of these rights
How to use them. Email hello@wearespry.com. We’ll respond within 30 days, and tell you if we need longer. We may need to confirm your identity first, and will ask only for what’s needed to do that. Someone can make a request for you with your written permission.
Some rights have exceptions. For example, we may keep information we need to comply with the law or to establish or defend legal claims. If that applies, we’ll tell you what we kept and why.
To stop getting a letter, use the unsubscribe link in any email. You don’t need to contact us.
If we refuse a request, we’ll tell you why and how to appeal. You can also complain to your state Attorney General, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or, in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information.
10. California
In the past 12 months we collected the categories described in section 2: identifiers (name, email address, IP address, shipping address), commercial information (orders), internet activity (the visit source and, with your permission, Google Analytics), and professional information you chose to give us (company and role). We collected them from you, and from your browser. We disclosed them to the service providers in section 4 for the purposes in section 3. We did not sell or share personal information, and we don’t use or disclose sensitive personal information.
11. Canada
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and to correct it. Contact Josh Hemingway at hello@wearespry.com. We ask for your consent before using analytics and before sending you email, and you can withdraw either at any time.
12. Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page when our practices change, and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll say so on the site, and ask again for consent where the law requires it. We review this policy at least once a year.
