1. What we aim for
We want everyone to be able to use wearespry.com, whatever their abilities and however they browse. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, a widely recognised international standard for web accessibility.
2. Where we stand
On 16 October 2026 we tested 19 pages of the site, including every kind of page (home, show, essay, shop, forms and these legal pages), with axe-core against WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 at Levels A and AA, alongside manual checks. We use the results to find and fix problems.
What we’ve built in:
- Meaningful images have text alternatives.
- Every form field has a label tied to it, and error messages say how to fix the problem. Sign-up fields also announce their consent terms to a screen reader.
- Text is designed to meet WCAG contrast requirements. Body text is near-black on white.
- The whole site works from a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator, and a skip link takes you straight to the content.
- The privacy choices bar and its preferences panel work from a keyboard and with a screen reader, and Escape closes the panel.
- Pages declare their language and use proper headings and landmarks.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the site’s animations and image movement switch off and content simply appears.
- Scrolling is always your browser’s own. We don’t take it over.
3. What we know is imperfect
Automated testing can’t check everything, and we’d rather tell you where we’re unsure than claim more than we can support.
- Videos play in YouTube’s player, whose accessibility is outside our control. Captions depend on what is available for each video.
- Text over photographs in the large images at the top of some pages sits on a darkened shade to stay readable, but contrast over a photograph varies and automated tools can’t measure every point of it.
- We haven’t yet completed a full screen-reader pass across every screen reader and browser, or testing at 400% zoom. Both are planned.
We have deliberately not installed an accessibility overlay widget. Those products don’t fix the underlying problems and can get in the way of the assistive technology you already use. We fix the site itself instead.
4. Tell us about a problem
If any part of the site is hard or impossible for you to use, please email Josh Hemingway at hello@wearespry.com.
It helps to know what you were trying to do, which page you were on, and what browser or assistive technology you use, but please get in touch even if you’d rather not go into detail.
We aim to reply within 5 business days, and we’ll tell you what we can do and when. If a fix will take time, we’ll offer another way to get what you needed in the meantime.
5. Keeping this true
We re-test when we make significant changes to the site, and review this page regularly. It was last reviewed on the date at the top.
