Josh Hemingway is director, executive producer, and partner at Spry. He joined Spry in 2014 and became co-owner in 2017, working alongside founder and creative partner Derek Miller to guide its evolution from a creative agency into a home for commercial filmmaking and original entertainment. Across that work, his interest has stayed consistent: finding the human story that gives people a reason to care.

Josh brings a filmmaker’s curiosity and a business owner’s instincts to every project. He enjoys the space where creative ambition meets practical possibility – helping partners clarify their vision, build a production around it, and carry it through to an audience. His approach is collaborative and hands-on, shaped by years of working with lean crews, navigating unfamiliar places, and making room for the unexpected moments that often become the best part of a film.

His work spans brand campaigns, documentary films, and unscripted television. Projects include Sweet Homes, which follows four friends through the realities of building a lakefront home, and Grietas, a documentary exploring memory, faith, and the lasting impact of Argentina’s dictatorship. Whether he’s developing an original series or directing a commercial project, Josh gravitates toward real people, meaningful stakes, and stories that can entertain while revealing something true.

Based in Orlando with his wife, Lindsey, and their two children, Josh finds much of his perspective in family, faith, travel, and time outdoors. Those parts of his life inform the way he leads Spry: with curiosity, a sense of adventure, and a commitment to doing good work with good people.
